Top 5 Can't Miss Theme Nights at the Ballpark This Year
As the new Fan Engagement Coordinator for the Jacksonville Ospreys, I’ll be in charge of bringing a lot of the extra fun that happens in between innings and all around the ballpark. For the past two seasons, I’ve been up in the press box doing stats and helping Chris Raynor on the broadcast, but this year I’m excited to step into a new role that allows me to interact more with our amazing fans. My goal is simple: bring as many smiles as possible during your time at the ballpark. If you happen to see me wandering around the concourse, please don’t be afraid to stop and say hi! While every theme night this season will deliver plenty of excitement, these are my top five favorite theme nights that I’m especially looking forward to.
Honorable Mention: Opening Night — Saturday, May 30, 2026
Opening Night doesn’t have a specific theme, but honestly, it doesn’t need one. That’s exactly why it sits just outside my top five. The natural excitement that surrounds the start of a new season is unmatched. The ballpark is always packed, buzzing with energy, and filled with fans who are just as excited for Ospreys baseball as we are. Make sure to arrive early so you can grab a great seat, check out the brand new merchandise, and enjoy some of the best food the ballpark has to offer. There’s nothing quite like that first pitch of the season!
5. Mascots Gone Wild Night — Friday, June 12
Get ready for absolute mascot chaos. On Mascots Gone Wild Night, our very own mascots will be joined by mascots from around the local area to compete in a series of athletic competitions to determine who truly is the best mascot in Jacksonville. Fans can expect plenty of Olympic-style events including pool noodle fencing, gymnastics, and track-and-field challenges. It’s going to be a night full of laughs, friendly competition, and maybe a few unexpected athletic performances from some oversized characters.
4. Disney Night — Sunday, June 14
Calling all princes, princesses, heroes, and villains! Disney Night is your chance to come dressed as your favorite Disney character and enjoy a magical evening at the ballpark. We’ll have special appearances from fan favorites like Elsa, Moana, and Spider-Man, who will be available for meet-and-greets and will help lead our parade of princesses and heroes around the stadium. Fans can also take part in our Captain Jack Sparrow “run” race—though knowing Jack, it may be more of a stagger than a sprint. Think you know your Disney music? I challenge anyone to beat me in our Guess That Disney Song competition.
3. Once a Marine, Always a Marine Night — Saturday, June 20
This special evening is one we’re proud to host in collaboration with the Carolina Museum of the Marine. Once a Marine, Always a Marine Night will celebrate the dedication, service, and spirit of the Marine community. Fans can participate in Marine-themed trivia, test their strength in a tug-of-war competition, and even witness (or participate in) a crayon cake eating contest provided by American Dream Cakes. It will be a fun and meaningful night honoring the values of courage, commitment, and camaraderie.
2. Mystery at the Ballpark Night — Wednesday, June 24
We have a problem… someone has stolen Orville’s lucky glove! On Mystery at the Ballpark Night, the entire stadium will transform into an interactive whodunit, and we need your help to solve the case. The concourse will be filled with clues, suspects, and witnesses who might know a little more than they’re letting on. Along the way, you’ll encounter puzzles and challenges that must be solved in order to uncover the truth. If you love a good mystery and enjoy putting your detective skills to the test, this is one night you absolutely won’t want to miss.
1. Dad Bod Night — Sunday, June 21
Taking the number one spot on my list is Dad Bod Night, which also happens to fall on Father’s Day. This night is all about celebrating dads in the most fun way possible. We’ll host a variety of competitions to determine whose dad truly deserves the crown, including a dad joke contest, a challenge to see who can fit the most items in their cargo shorts, and some tool-themed trivia. There will also be plenty of heartwarming moments throughout the night, including a daddy-daughter dance and a special dad-and-son catch on the field. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the dads who have spent countless evenings teaching us how to throw a ball, grill a burger, and tell the occasional terrible joke.
Whether you’re coming out for one of these theme nights or any of our other exciting theme nights throughout the season, we’re working hard to make every night at the ballpark a fun and memorable experience. Our goal is to make the Jack Amyette Ballpark a place where families, friends, and fans of all ages can come together, laugh a little, and enjoy great baseball. If you want to see the full lineup of theme nights and everything we have planned, be sure to check out the Promotions tab on our website for a complete list and descriptions of each event. I can’t wait to see the stands full of smiling faces this season. Be sure to grab your tickets, mark your calendars, and get ready for a season full of fun! I’ll see you at the ballpark!
